We like looking at heavy machinery and large equipment at Meadows Analysis. A lot of the engineering analysis problems we complete are of this sort.
We have spent quite a bit of time this fall analyzing frac pump stresses due to manufacturing and operations. The cycles and rigor these machines are exposed to in the field are mind boggling, and we have to simulate this on screen to look at failure thresholds.
Besides the mechanical stresses, we have also been performing Computational Fluid Analysis to find turbulent spots in the flow. This clues our engineering friends into quantifiable areas to focus on in their design to reinforce.
Attached are some images from those analyses. Because the details are proprietary, we will not disclose details of the images (thanks for understanding). We wanted to give you a glimpse into some of the problems we are tackling.
What kind of engineering problems are you looking at these days?
