We enjoy working on equipment enhancements in the oil field. We had a recent engineering challenge to understand the stress limits on a coil reel that stored and fed tubing from a trailer mount.

We performed FEA analysis on the baseline design in Autodesk Inventor to discover the maximum Von Mises stresses.

Using engineering best practices, we reinforced the coil reel with plating in key areas and ran a second FEA analysis to discover a markedly lower Von Mises stress.

Our engineering team created the analysis report for consideration based on the calculated findings.
